The Project Manager- Inside Sales individual is primarily responsible to be the internal single point of contact for the Customer, being the voice of the Customer from quote to shipment. Using independent judgement the project manager is responsible for a variety of tasks including technical review of order-specific drawings and specifications, preparing the technical hand-off to engineering for submittal drawing preparation, preparing and transmitting the submittal package to the Customer, reviewing terms and conditions, securing Customer authorization to manufacture the order, negotiating deliverables dates for submittals and products, and overseeing the schedule and progress of the order from design through shipping. Expected to promote the sale of mechanical equipment, supplies, or services which require engineering knowledge. They will also prepare financial and operational estimates from blueprints, plans, or other records submitted by potential customers, and reports customer practices regarding utilization of company products. Additionally, they will propose changes in equipment or use of materials which would result in cost reduction or more efficient operation. Manage areas of responsibility in accordance with established policies, procedures and objectives, with consideration to the safety, efficiency, harmony and well-being of the Company and its employees. Adhere to high ethical business standards and applicable government laws, regulations and codes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage Customer interface, including but not limited to: provide timely Customer contact, responding to Customers’ comments and questions within one (1) business day. Provide clarification of technical details and commercial conditions. Confirm that the quotation and purchase order agree and comply with project specifications. Prepare and monitor the progress of product submittals. Facilitate order processing by negotiating Customer Required Date (CRD). Transmit submittals for Customers’ authorization. Negotiate and prepare change orders as needed. Monitor order progress from order entry through shipping. Ensure Customer satisfaction.
Processing complex Customer orders
Oversight of the progress of multiple orders, review and approve detailed specification/plans/submittals to accomplish deliverables goals.
Design, development, and implementation of technical processes and systems. Include recommendations to improve quality and efficiency of products and/or processes.
Provide Customer support by answering questions about technical products, product applications, technical solutions, prices, availability and schedules.
Emphasize product features based on analyses of Customers' applications and assist Customers in making product selections.
Quote prices, propose and describe technical solutions, credit terms acc. to bid specifications, and prepare sales contracts/ order documentation for large projects.
Review current economic conditions that may affect Red Valve’s ability to sell products and services in the marketplace.
Analyze costs to determine profitability of orders received based on quoted prices.
Role does not directly manage employees.
Bachelor’s degree, in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) strongly preferred.
5+ years’ experience in technical sales, marketing within an industrial manufacturing environment.
Experience with elastomers, valves, water, waste water, or mining is desirable.
Experience in a fast paced, low volume/high mix manufacturing environment that serves both the municipal and industrial markets is preferred
3+ years’ experience in global/international sales
Bilingual is a preferred skill (Spanish preference)
Expert proficiency in reading and interpreting design prints and Customer specifications.
Expert relationship builder and communication skills
Experienced financial skills related to P&Ls, budgeting, variance analysis, spending controls, and the implementation of cost improvement programs. (Expert)
